Tom and William Henderson founded Ace Motorcycle Co. in 1920. Ace was to have a brief but mighty run in the four-cylinder campaigns of the twenties with Red Wolverton in 1923 setting a speed record of 129.9 MPH aboard a specially built machine and Cannonball Baker completing a record-breaking cross country run, in less than seven days. Many collectors regard the Ace as the best inline four-cylinder motorcycle ever built, and indeed it was certainly the fastest motorcycle of its era. Ace riders captured records in hill climb and endurance runs in both the US and in Australia and established the marque as a crowning achievement in speed and handling.
